Women's Institute - West Sussex
Building communications confidence through practical training
The challenge
Many organisations have fantastic stories to share but don’t always feel confident knowing how to communicate them effectively.
The Women’s Institute wanted practical support to help members develop their social media skills and feel more confident promoting their activities and achievements.
The approach
I delivered a tailored social media training session, designed to provide practical guidance that participants could put into action straight away.
Drawing on my background in journalism, PR and communications, I shared practical advice on creating engaging content, understanding audiences and using social media more effectively.
The session covered:
✓ Creating engaging social media content
✓ Understanding what makes people stop and engage
✓ Planning content more effectively
✓ Building confidence online
✓ Practical tips and guidance participants could use immediately
The impact
The workshop gave participants the tools and confidence to approach social media more strategically, helping them share their stories and connect with their communities more effectively.
Future training support
I continue to develop tailored communications workshops for organisations looking to build their skills, whether that’s improving social media confidence, understanding PR opportunities or learning how to tell their stories more effectively.
